yeah me neither until it happened to my old e36. i believe the dme is below the windshield cowl. and when you go through a car was with high pressure, it can seep down under the cowl and get the dme wet. my car didn't run for at least a day after that.
hey thanks for that info i toke the battery out and the cover off where the ecu is hidden. i found some wet mushy crap in there and pulled the plug off the ecu there was a bit of crap in there. i can seee how it would effect the ecu now. did you block up the whole the water where the water was getting into the ecu area ?

is your battery in the engine compartment? and no, i sold the car the next day. lolz
the water makes it into the ecu due to clogged drains where the ac blower motor sits, so when it overflows it makes it back to the ecu and will eventually short things out.
I would suggest for starters to clean out the connector with good electrical cleaner.
you may want to pull the metal cover off from the ecu and spray contact cleaner to the actual board to make sure is properly dry and clean.
reassenble and see what happens, if it happens again youre ecu could have got damaged..
