318I turbo

Hey all.

I am after some advice on my 318i 8V 115HP EURO BMW.

i want to put a turbo onto it but i would like to know what i need to mod or if on low psi or is it not possible?

I have had someone offer me a full engine 140HP conversion(engine ecu wire loom) for around $750 but not sure what to do.

The m42b18 would be a very straight foward swap, but honestly it isn't really worth it given the power gains.

The turbo on the 8v motor is also not really a great recipe for power. Your best would probably be a m50 or m52 swap. With a chip and a good intake you'll be making 200hp, which is realistically what I'd expect you'd get with the 8v with a lot of headaches.

yeah, i wouldn't turbo the 4-cyl...

i mean, there are so many 6-cyls available...

for low psi a turbo wouldn't be worth the money spent installing it.

maybe a supercharger, but i would just swap the engine to like Torque said the M50....

that's what i have and it's pretty decent...
