cuz there are reasons for buying it cheap on gas, cheap to maintain and u get the same bmw driving experience, well thats all thats comin up in my mind rite now, it only has 50hp less than the 6 banger BMW's so i dont think theres a much of a difference when u consider the weight of both cars, i will prefer the 318is as it is a little bit lighter than the sedans.
theres a huge difference. the 6 cylinders are over 2 seconds quicker in the 0-60 dash. theyre a bit heavier yeah, but they have more power and more importantly torque. and their mileage is not that much worse than the 4s.
and 318s are not really any easier or cheaper to maintain than the bigger brothers, damn.
i only have a 318 because it was my dads old car. i would have bought a 325 or better if i was paying.

The coupes are heavier. The 318i is about 50lbs lighter than the M3, the 325/328 are a bit heavier than that. The 318i does get much better gas mileage as reported by everyone on this forum. Look at any thread about gas mileage and you'll see. I don't care what the EPA is for them, with real people driving them the 318 is significantly better. Also better weight distribution and better (from a reliablity stand point) engine. Sure the extra 50hp would be nice, but you can have a hell of a good time with a 318 and some light mods. I know

+1 the 318 m42-m44 motor high revving motor which is just plain fun driving, u feel the entire car and i think thats pretty damn cool.
yeah theres not many cars if any where i like the sedan version better than the coupe. and having 2 doors is good, that means we hardly ever take my car unless theres 2 of us, and that saves me wear on my car and gas.
