| Here goes the question, the car is a 1993 318i which had 170,000 kms before the engine blew (oil drained out, someone tried to drive it, i was away @ school, end of story)
My question to you all is this, is it worth it for me to swap a 95 325i engine w/34,000 kms in by doing most of my own work ?
I know this much, engine mount points are the same location, different mounts though
exhaust system needs to be completely changed. which is fine as I will go aftermarket right away
tranny I can keep, and mine is in pretty good condition, rear end is smaller, but will be able to handle power (as stated by a BMW mechanic)
The engine is complete with alternator, fuel pump, ac compressor, and manifolds, etc. Engien wiring harness is also included, price = 2500 CDN +tax = about 1850 US
My other option is trying to find a decent mileage 318i motor, it's an m42 that's in mine, not the m40 or m43, as I've only been able to find the 318i with either of those 2 motors
How's the body you say ?..it had the rear subframe failure, that is fixed (too much money) Perfect exterior good to great interior. M3 oem lux package, 17" racing dynamics rims, or would you say I sell the car and see what i can get for it ?
LMK on options, and if there's anything else I'm missing for the swap, LMK
Thanks,
