318 Revving Problem

i have a bmw 318i and i have noticed that if i rev it say up to 2500 rpm it doesnt want to rev down as fast as say my daily driver escort gt or my friends cars. Is this just a problem with 4-cylinder bmws or is their something wrong with my car?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

The revs fall quicker when you have a lighter flywheel. The heavier the flywheel, the more momentum it will pick up once you get it moving, the longer it will take to slow it down, therefore the revs drop slower.
