I was just wondering in your travels if you guys have seen stuff for the 1.8 liter.
I have looked all over and have no idea where else to go.
If you see something please throw down the link
I know of Dinan, thats about it.
I am sick fo there parts, they are too expensive for really no gain at this point.
Thanks in advance for your help

yeah the 318 is a hard car to shop for, dinan is expensive i agree but most mods you will be buying for a 318 give you no HP anyways so if you want mods might as well pay the $$$ for them! ebay always claims to have parts for the 318 haha
theres a few big ones but like red said.... there aint to many hp gains on bolt on stuff. Drop an m3 engine in there or a turbo and make it sleeper lol

What are you looking for exactly? There are lots of parts if you look around. Suspension parts are pretty much all the same as the 6 pots. Intakes are easy to custom make. Lots of exhaust systems available. Brakes are all the same as the 6 pots, pistons, rods, valvetrain can all be purchased from Crower, JE, BMPD, etc. If you're looking for some nice cams, I'd recommend BMP, they have a wide variety of low-high duration cams. They also have the multi-throttle intake manifold. All brands carry chips for the 318, TMS, Dinan, BAV Auto, BMPD, EAT, Garett, etc.
So what is it that you can't find? :wink

I know what you mean I have a M44 and am in the same boat, however I am woking on a few things. I am working on adapting a one piece intake manifold from a 91' 318is, ported and polished cylinder head, and having my cams reground.
I got the 91' intake manifold today and I have the cylinder head with cams, a stock intake manifold, extra injectors, and spare throttle body coming in tomorrow. So then the custom work will begin.
I have spent about $350 on spare parts. Having my cams reground will be about $300 and I am checking with a guy to have the head ported.

Let me know how that works out. I have a '90 M42 intake manifold which I tried to custom fit into my E36 M42. It fit no problem, but it sat way too high, I couldn't close my hood. How did you solve this dilemma? When you start working on the project, please let us know the specs!
If you're working with N/A, I haven't seen anyone with a super fast M42/M44. Your best bet would be to build a 2.1L stroker. I'd be happy if I could get 2.0L without stroking it.
thanks,
Bry
