are the 318 and 320 the same?

when im looking for parts online all i ever find is the 318. can i still use that platform to search for parts?

Whether you can use parts for a 318 will depend on what parts you're looking for. The 318 has a 4-cylinder 1.8 or 1.9 liter engine, while the 320 is a 6-cyl 2.0. In many aspetcs, the 320 will be more like the 325 or 323 than the 318.

Parts stores should be able to tell you whether the parts will fit and work on your car.

the wheels will fit, suspension will be different as they are designed differently because of different wieghts of the engines.

I'll move this thread also and combine it with your first one, since (1) your car is an E36, not an E46 nor an E90 and (2) this thread is about the same topic.

Suspension is the same for the 318 and 320.

Exhaust: you need an exhaust that fits the 325, since you have an M50 engine.
