3 short beeps, what does it mean? - BMW Forum

Like the title says.....While I'm driving sometimes I'll get 3 short beeps, no lights flash and nothing appears on the message center. Does anyone know what this might mean? This is a 1998 323is.

hey, that happened to me and i figured it was when the temp goes under 3 degrees

I don't think so, it has happened twice so far. Once it was in the summer so it was about 75F and the other night it was 38F when it did it.

but it is the same beep when the temp displays, just 3 instead of 1.

The first time I was going about 40-45mph, the second time about 20mph.

The memo button on your OBC is activated, 3 beeps just before the hour, press it again and it will stop.

Thanks! I think you're right. If my memory doesn't fail me, I think both times happened right after the times changed. I probably hit it by mistake.
