Hey guys, as you all know I have a 328is. Well, my next mod to go for is cams, but cams+install are going to run me about 2.3 grand. So I thought about it, and if for twice that I can swap an m3 motor (euro spec would be nice), that'd be a much better investment. Plus I'd already have the exhast and intake for it, putting me right below 250bhp.
Anyone know anyone whose done an m3 motor swap? Anyone know a good place to FIND an m3 motor for sale? The only ones on Ebay were going for 6k+. Any help would be appreciated =)
Even if you swap in a M3 engine, your car will never be a M3. It will always be a 328is and it's value will deprecciate (sp?) at the same rate as if it was stock... or near it.
It isn't cheep.. the engine itself may be cheep, but the electronics and all of the bells and whistles that have to go along with it will blow your ass apart. I think you need a new driveline as well and if you do that, you might as well put an LSD in. If the engine's much heavier than the stock one, you may need more hefty springs in the front than you have now.
