2.8 engine life

Anybody know how long(miles) a properly maintained 2.8 should last? And what are the major repairs that can be expected once it reaches 75k, 100k, 125k, etc.

A 2.8 that is well taken care of should last you a LONG time. My last 2.8 had 150,000 miles and ran like new.

i race mine flat out all the time (on the road and on the track) its done 126k and it still runs smooth and pulls without spluttering.....

the only thing i do ensure is its serviced when required by BMW.

ill just put this in. many e30 have ran over 300k miles and are still running. i know someone that still has the stock battery in his e30 with over 310k miles. so it would last long
