2.3 conversion on a 318i

i have a 318i on a j and would consider putting a p reg 2.3 6 cylinder engine into it as i just so happen to have one lying around aswell as the rear axel, exhaust, diff, prop,and all running gear.

however i do not have the ecu, or any wiring what problems am i likley to face and is it going to be a mission and a half or straight forward as getting an ecu and engine loom and just buttoning it all together?

any help with this type of conversion will be appreciated also does anyone know if there is any other way of getting the 2.3 engine running without an ecu, eg older carbs or twin webers etc?

An ECU shouldn't be hard to find. You will also need a larger radiator, distributor, plug wires, airbox, and little stuff like that if they aren't with it.

Yes, but it has a deceased HP rating in comparison with the 325.
