1st Gear Jumpy Under Load..?

I have an E36 320i Coupe and bassically if I pull away under load in 1st gear, it starts jumping back and forth like it really doesnt want to go..., how ever, if i fade the revs in, you know... get going then whack the foot down, it goes right through the Rev Range... Anyone Know Whats Up!?!?!?!?!

how old is your clutch? if its worn out it will slip under load. does the car jerk when you hammer down the gas at any speed? Then it could be throttle related.

i had this happen to me and all it turned out to be was that my air intake ducts had torn due to age(un-metered air will cause jumpy low end)...if one is torn the rest are on their way to being torn. take my advice replace all of the ducts. oh ya a quick fix would be duct tape...i covered mine with electrical tape because i could never open my hood and see duct tape :

Ya, it sounds as though it is air related, could be an ignition coil but you'd feel that throughout the whole rev. It could be the worst, a torn subframe but I doubt that. Get your system checked for air leaks, that would be your best bet. Also check out your throttle boot, they're notorious for going bad on these cars.
