1999 E36 (Euro) Sigma alarm

I recently bought a 1999 E36 323i Sport Touring here in the UK. Although it has plenty of M-tech toys, it is not fitted with an alarm as standard! It has the standard EWS immobiliser though.
I've been offered a new, still packaged, "BMW approved" remote alarm and
the description I've been given is:
"BMW 3T-EWS EV-2610, SIGMA, 86657-1, GOLD UNIT"
Any ideas if this is suitable for my vehicle?
Any info much appreciated.
Thanks,
JB

"NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE".....Let *me* be the f***ing judge of that!

not too sure, depending on price there is lots of choice out there, sometimes aftermarket alarms are better than any stock or upgraded stock alarms,,, however ive never heard of this alarm , to be honest the only approved upgraded alarm that is half decent is stellar.
