1998 bmw e36 323i p1188 code sys lean

Hello, I a euro car tech, I have a 98 bmw e36 323i I6 2.5 with a p1188 bank 1 lean code. I have smoke tested the car several times and repaired all vacuum leaks. this engine has NO VACUUM leaks what so ever. the MAF has been replaced previous to me purchasing the car. I notice the fuel system takes longer than expected to enter closed loop operation. I would generally expect no longer than 30 seconds with a obdII euro car, but this is taking at least 3 to 4 mins. Before the vehicle enters Closed loop the idle varies up and down between 200 to 300 rpms, but this could partially be attributed to the air pump running. This car only has 2 oxygen sensors, one pre cat and one post. I replaced the pre cat o2 sensor and watching the voltage switch, it switches faster than beforee... but still getting the p1188 code.. keep in mind that there are NO VACUUM leaks, intake boot etc have already been replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

This fault code appears regular here, search the forum with "1188" ... HTH

I read a few threads regarding this problem... but all the approaches were related to vacuum leaks and the boot which is not a problem in this case.

Have you tried resetting the ecu? This can sometimes help with mickey-mouse codes !
