1998 Bmw 328i

Hi everyone,
I am thinking about buying a 1998 BMW 328i (5 speed), I can get a good price for it but I need to know how reliable they are because right now there are 125,000 miles on it. I would like this car to last me 200,000 plus miles, preferably closer to 250,000. Will I run into many problems due to the high mileage? Or is it a reliable car that will last me 200,000 plus miles without many problems? Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is that particular car (the one you're thinking of buying) is reliable? Depends on whether it has been taken care of; or whether it has been abused and whether all the preventive maintenance has been done or not.
Commonly knows problems are...
- Cooling system (water pump, radiator, thermostat)
- Power Steeing fluid leaks (around the reservoir and around the hoses).
- Secondary Air Pump starts making noises before going bad.
- ABS/ASC related problems (not that common, but enough people have reported).

If I were you, I would try to get the Service Record /receipts; that way, I would know what [if any of the above] were already replaced.

My recommendation: BUY IT, you will love [the torque] it.
