1997 BMW 328i Traction control

Hi I bought a 97 bmw 328i about a month ago, and the traction control light does not come on at startup nor go away, nor does pressing the ASC+T button make the light come on or off, the abs light comes on at startup and goes away like normal, does anyone know if theres a problem, or maybe just a dash bulb burned out, cause abs works fine. thanks

maybe set the wheel in water or a slippery surface and give it gas and if the tire keeps spinning traction control is not working....
