Does it stop after a while? If so, you may have cooling issues (water pump etc) and if not, there may be a sticking relay.

No. It is all stock - but has been maintained throughout the years well. So...I did the predictable: took it down to the BMW Dealership...Might as well just sell my house for the bill I will receive.
