1995 E36 Trunk Locking/Unlocking Question

I have a 96 318ti that I can lock and unlock the doors from the trunk. I have a 1988 325 that I can lock and unlock the doors from the trunk.. BUT, I just got a 1995 325I that will unlock the doors from the trunk, but not lock the doors... Before I tear this thing apart, does anyone know if you supposed to be able to both lock and unlock the doors from the trunk? The owners manual says nothing about it... Thanks

I also have a 95'. My key will lock the doors, but will not unlock them. Strange, huh? Turning the key to the right will lock them, turning it to the left does nothing. I have keyless entry, don't know if that makes a difference. Please post if you out anything.

my trunk lock is busted.. because so loser kids tried to break into my car... so i cant lock OR unlock from the trunk!

OK, I started trying to figure this thing out... One thing that is really strange is IF I put the ignition key in the ignition and put it in any position other than off (you need two keys to do this...) and use the other key in the trunk, everything works fine... That is I can unlock and lock all the doors with no trouble from the trunk. Then if I remove the key from the ignition, it countinues to work fine UNTIL I open one of the doors....then if fails. I can repeat this over and over... Another thing I found (it may not be related) is that the fuel filler lock will only lock (someone broke off the rod, so there is no issue with opening the filler door... The doors and the fuel filler door both work off the central locking system... I'll post more as I find it...
