1995 BMW 325ic bouncing

Hi everyone...I'm new here.

I have a 1995 BMW 325ic. It's been "bouncing" on the highway, but especially on the the back roads. Sometimes, the ASC light even comes on. I like to repair things myself, and I'm sure the suspension is bad. Does this model have struts or shocks or both, and which ones are in the front and rear? I'm going to buy a maintenance manual for it so that I can see how to replace what I need to replace. Thank you!

Their is an E36 Bentkey Service Manual available for download at te top of the E36 section.

The front uses a spring-strut design that combines the shock absorber and the spring. In te rear the shock absorber and spring are separate. If you need to replace you shocks the OEM and cheapest replacement is Sachs. Check out BMW parts Mercedes Benz car parts OEM auto parts online for good pricing on them.

You have spring strut assembly in the front and just the shock in the rear. Its simple. Remove the entire strut assembly put spring compressor on and remove the nut. Make sure to keep all washer/ slavers in order. After you've assembled the strut, the top part should rotate freely. Its on a bearing. The three nuts and bolts on the fender well go on only one way. If you cab do this, the reads should be no problem. Goodluck.
