1995 318is backfire stutters when i give it gas

this problem just started car has run great for years i take very good care off it four days ago it was rough starting now it will start idle fine touch the gas it starts stuttering and backfiring and then stops i was told it is most likely the DME i took it out looked at it no signs of water damage it looks good
i checked the vacuum lines changed the fuel filter there is no check engine lights coming on please help im at a loss i cant get to work!!! ohhh and i love this car

i should add this the car will start and idle fine i can give it gas it will rev fine for about three min the will sputer and back fire through the intake if i wait a few hours unhook the battery it will go through the same prosses al over again

When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter and spark plugs?

OK i changed the fuel filter fuel pump new plugs and wires im thinking MAF sensor any thoughts ????? cant afford to keep throwing parts at it

Clean the MAF if you haven't already. Also check for vacuum leaks.

changed maf sensor all new vacume lines idle control valve and fuel pump filter cleaned fuel injectors still the same dont know what to do
