I found a 94 325is, automatic, sitting in a garage. It's for sale and it has been sitting there for two years. It's an unheated cold and damp garage. She's missing a front bumper and some moldings. Hasn't been started in 18 months. I've restored a 318is of the same year but she was mechanically A-1.
Would it be very expensive to swap in a Manual Tranny?
What do I need to look for considering the vehicle left abandoned for so long?
And for a selling price of $3000 Canadian dollars, would it be all worth it.
Thank you for your input.

Honestly you should know from restoring the 318 that BMWs are expensive to restore. If it has rust too I would just stay away if is near impossible to get every little bit of that. I bought my 325is 1994 with similar miles and it had a few things that I have had to fix/restore. The things I fixed and did were expensive. I would save the money and try and find one already to go or close to it.
If I can get the car for 2K or about $1500 USD then I'll be happy to change a fender or hood.
I do appreciate your input.
I'll post the pics and then we'll see the consensus. I got my 318 for a similar price. After all was said and done the car cost me around $6500 out of pocket.
Still curious about whether it is possible to swap out the automatic for a manual.

What can I say, LOL, where I come from ten year old cars look like they're actually 20, hence the restoration word... for $1500 USD you can imagine what this e36 looks like after 2 years of neglect.
thanks... if I need that front bumper I'll PM you. It's been raining three solid days up here so I haven't had a good oppotunity to take pics. I did get a chance to look at the interior, black leather still in good shape. Brakes are seized and the door panels are coming off...
