First, let me say that I know... real cars have 3 pedals. My 325i was my wife's daily driver, so she wanted an auto.
I have the car now and I drive it a little harder than she did. When driving with the sport program active (the tranny in 3rd), If I accelerated hard to anything over 60 mph, the transmission light will come on after I let off the gas. I'll see the RPMs drop as I begin to coast, but as the needle dips, the light comes on.
If I do the same thing with the trans in "D", the problem does not occur. It also doesn't happen if I shift from "3" to "D" just before I left off the gas.
Anyone have any ideas?
