| 1994 325 IS,M50 E36 tranny change
hey guys...havent been here in a while, but i put some synthetic atf in my 5 speed manual...lets see, about three days later my tranny took a @#$%!!!!!! so i get one from the junk yard with 130k on it and commence to putting my girl up on stands and laying on the creeper for what seemed like days...anyway, to my point: The top bolts were a bear, but my starter bolts had nuts on them! so i drop the tranny mount in the rear to give me a little room, and get to all the bolts(with 3' of extensions!) and wouldnt ya know, i cant even touch the nut on top!!! i was told i was unlucky to have the non threaded starter, but thats my luck for everything anyway! so im cussing in french by know, and i dont even speak the language, and get a wrench on the nut on the left bolt(facing the engine from the tranny) of the starter pin, but i absolutely couldnt even get to the very top bolt and just spun the bolt!!! so i'm at this for about an hour til my girl comes out (and i bite her head off cuz i'm pissed, and she wants me to take a break and wash her car!!!).....so like any full blooded male, i wash the car!!!!!!!!(i know i know!)so she is glad i wash her car and looks up on some blog and says i need to take the intake manifold off to get to it!!(oh hell no i'm not doing that!) so i bend a wrench and cut it off about two inches and presto!! yeah what a pain in the ass!!! by the way, i super glued the nut to the wrench to get it back on! BMW mechanics should get all the money!! anybody out there do something as stupid as putting synthetic in there tranny and deal with what i did? |
