I am new to this board. I have had my 1992 325i for about two years. I have had two annoying problems that I cannot figure out.

First, I have the basic OBC with Time, Temp., etc. It has never worked. I never see the time or temp, etc. I have removed it and changed the bulbs. When I remove and re-install the OBC it lights up and works, that is it works until I power of my car. Next time, I start my car the OBC doesn't light up anymore.

Second, my front-left speaker has an awful crackling noise that comes from it every couple of minutes. During the crackle noise, I notice that the lights on my radio are going on and off. Also, the cd changer only works part-time, but I can live without operating my cd's.

The OBC problem is not somehting I have heard of before. My only speculation is there is a short somewhere in line that causes the bulb to get too much power and blow out.

As for the speaker, its probably blown and the radio is dieing. Your best option is to replace the speakers and HU.
