1992 318is 5spd engine swap from 1993 325is

Hi
I have done lots of damage to my bimmer .
Everything in the front is smashed .
Found a 1993 325is 5spd with a rear fire damage due to exploded trunk ???.
The car has been sitting in a garage for the last 6 months at least .
Would it be a good idea to swap everything under the hood into my car ?
Is it the same gearbox drive train differantial ?
Anybody does it for a living or as a hobby ?
I am in SoCal .

Well your car is pre-vanos if im not mistaken....i think it is possible...but would take lots of work....correct if im wrong

FYI, the 318 does not utalize vanos regardless of model year.

In order to sway the 1.8 for the 2.5 you would need a new tranny, driveshaft, differential, engine, ECU, and all the other engine components.

Plus, ifyou car is as damaged as you make it sound, it may be best to total it. Repairs will outweigh cost of transplant, not to mention cost of body repair and frame pulling.

part yours out, and use that as a down payment on 1 fully intact 318. there really cheap nowadays.
