My descision will be based on mostly performance/saftey. The AC Schnitzer type III wheels look the best to me but i wont be able to afford the price for genuine wheels; and ive heard its usually not a good idea to buy replicas. After some research on this site, ive found that most people seem to think 17" is overall the best wheel size; so im pretty stuck on that. But it ends there, i havent heard much about the best tire width.

But going by previous experiences and reccomendations, ive heard that wider is almost always better when it comes to wheels/tires, and why wouldnt it? wouldnt more rubber on the ground mean more traction? (if all the wheels were the same model etc. with the same conditions etc.)

With more power comes the need of a bigger contact patch. The wider the tire the bigger the contact patch. However, it gets to a point that enough is enough. If you had 8" or 8.5" wheels you could easily put a 245 tire on it. I would certainly think that would be enough, unless you plan on doing some heavy modding (turbo, supercharger) at which point tires would be the least of your worries.

Ohh.. and my fenders are rolled...

I dont get much rub with 255s... I measured how much rolling the fenders allows... and it was any where from a quarter of an inch.. to a half an inch more room... which helps.. if your trying to ride with wide tires... I have 225s in the front.. and 265s in the rear right now..

What width is your rear wheel? I am trying to scrub some tires as that is the one thing that sucked about the car when I got it. They are Z-rated, but suck none the less. I'm thinking 245's out back and 225's up front.
