I have had my car since April, and the OBC has not worked, I am slowly getting the car back together. I pulled it out and saw that a bulb was burned out, being these run in series, will one bulb being burned out make them all not work? The OBC does not light up or anything. Advice or help is greatly appreciated.
That does not really help, I believe I said I found the blown bulb. I was asking if changing the bulb would help, what would have to be soldered? IDK much about these computers. Anyone with actual knowledge would be appreciated.
Ahhh, no is the simple answer as these "physical" bulbs only provide the backlight!
Your issue seems to be more sinister if you have no info showing at all, because these units are dot-matrix and should illuminate independently...

yes it would, i had the same prblem with mine change the bulbs (all) of them to be safe, if any lines on the grid have gone out you will have to open it u and resolder the ribbon cable inside.
Does anyone know a way to get all this apart, it seems that the bottom circuit board does not want to come out carefully. and which ribbon cable is it, there is obviously the one on the outside, is there more once I get it open.
