| 02 or Knock sensors? I have a '95 325iS and recently I upgraded my computer chip with a new one from Turner. Before I installed the chip my car ran perfect. I went to put the chip in and basically it ended up being a defective chip so I was forced to put the original one back in until Turner sent me a replacement.
Once I put the old one back in i noticed the idle would sputter every 15-20 seconds consecutively. The idle would jump from 800 rpms to 1500 rpms, the check engine light would come on for a sec, and then back down and would level itself out. I figured the the comp was re-learning itself and I cleaned the ICV as well just to make sure and still no change. I drove it until I got the new chip and after the new one was installed there was still no fucking difference.
I checked around here in the forums for a while and found nothing similar other than dirty ICV's which didn't match my case. Finally I spent about 150 something on the Peake Research scan tool and it came up with:
-Output stage, Group 1
-Knock sensor, cyl 4-5-6
-Knock sensor, 1-2-3
-Knock control test pulse
First of all I have no damn clue what an output stage is.
Plus I've talked to others on here and they said a bad 02 sensor could've thrown the knock sensor code. I don't know where to start.
If you guys could just maybe give me any feedback at all maybe you've had similar problems, I don't know. Any ways thanks. |
