What years have produced some of the better built E-30's? Im looking to sell my E-36 and get an E-30 to help pay my rent at college. I do understand the fact that these are older cars and would need a little pampering- but hey its a BMW these things are bullet proof with a little maintenance. Actually im lookin more at finding a 1990 or 1991 or possibly a 1992 E36. Out of those which would you recommend? I dont really care which year i just want the one with the most bugs worked out in them. This would also not be used to race just to commute. Thanks alot.

I just sold my 316i E30, 1991. I had it for just over 6 years and in that time I had no major problems until the reason I sold it. The steering rack was starting to leak and I could not be bothered to get it fixed. So I sold it and bought an E46.
If you want an E30, get a late one(1990/91). The Auto is not as much fun to drive and will cost you an extra 5 miles per gallon. Be prepared for expensive parts, especially if you live in the USA. E30 is a very nice car to drive and I enjoyed my time with it..
i own a 1991 318is. its teh year right b4 tehy went e36. its the latest year so its most likely going to be the best year of all the e30's for problem occurances. its the newest one, so hopefully it will have less problems. i luv my car

definitely try and get a 1991 325. not only are they in better shape than previous years, they also have more hp and torque! its a win win situation. Just good luck finding one...
it depends on what your looking for... My favorite, other than the m3, is the 1987 325Is... the reason being, u have the sporty engine but its still pre facelife which i like better. I like the tailigihts.. the higher rear arches, and u can always put plastic bumpers or euro pumpers on... plus the IS lip for 87 looks pimp!
