I was just reading a 1985 August "Popular Science" article testing the 325e 5 speed, Mercedes 190E and Caddy Cimarron V6. The 325e was the fastest car on test, 0-60 in 9.4 seconds, although Car & Driver got 8.4 . B)
Torque is the eta motor's strong suit, which works well in the light e30. I saw a European report that put the e30 325i at 0-60 in 7.4 seconds so the 325e isn't that far behind comparing stock cars.
