Wipers %$@#ed up
Help me. please. It is scary driving in the rain with one retarded wiper.
for some reason... my drivers side wiper does not work, when it does, i works for maybe, 10 wipes and then gets forced off the windshield and down in between the side mirror and the A pillar. WTF? bought a new relay but Im not sure that will solve the problem. Any suggestions? trying to avoid buying a new wiper motor... maybe its the actual blades themselves? this seems unlikely though.

yeah I heard about that shit, when it happened it was raining pretty hard and I pulled over to an autozone and got some, though it was 43* and raining/wet so I was not able to correctly apply it at the time. wipers are something that ive never been up on (it rains very little in san diego and have used them few times)
if this helps: when the blade is actually ON the window, the right one does not wipe, however if I pull it off the window (as if to wash/dry my windshield) and the wipers are activated, it moves in its full motion. I know it is capable of moving, is the wiper motor too weak to move it with resistance from the windshield?
it sounds like the wiper is catching on the motor at times here and there and is not totally attached to it... try and see if it can be tightened down anymore, if not then check to see if it looks stripped....
lds, 3 questions... one, how does that rainx work?? does it work well enough to not need wipers??? doubt i would use it just sounds very interesting...
two, have you sold the turtle yet? and if not (i may have missed the thread) but how much are you selling it for??
three, when are you going to change your name to lsd breaker??

so... replace the inner gears in the wiper motor? or replace wiper motor? again, my knowledge of the amazing windshield wiper system is ZIP. but hey, thats what you guys are here for ill try to do some research myself, I always try to get some research done before asking a question.
no first take the wiper arm off the car. then look to see if where the arm attaches is stripped(the conish part under the treads) if is looks ok then put the arm back on and maybe put some locktight on the mating surface.. and tighten it really tight........ should fix you issue

1. Green Hell (my other '86 325e with the copper paint job) doesn't have wipers. The PO was going to put a mono blade on there, and guess what happened... it stripped. So now I have to clean that up if I ever want a real inspection sticker (ahem). I've been using the RainX since I got it in all kinds of rain, and all it does is make sure that the water beads up really well. As soon as you go over 30 mph or so, it's enough wind to pull the water up the windshield and out of your vision. It works pretty good!
2. TURTL3 is not sold yet. I kinda want $2000 for it, but here's the thing. I was going to do all the upgrade stuff (suspension, engine swap, brakes, etc) on the TURTL3 when all of a sudden I found Green Hell. So the car needs the suspension done, brakes, engine... etc. Here's what she's got: 9.5/10 interior, 3M tint that has a lifetime warranty, Euro grills, H1/H4 headlights, 17" rims with pretty good rubber, front plastic bumper and valence ('90) ghetto paint matched by myself, and a pretty straight body. It runs fine, but it definitely needs either a new engine or a complete refresh, and a new clutch. In fact I'm using it for pizza delivery duty now, but I'm just kinda waiting for the right situation to come around. Plus, I need to get my 535is going before I can totally wean myself off the TURTL3, and actually put her up for sale.
3. When I break an LSD. Maybe I can work something out soon.

its funny when youre the only one with your whippers off...had whipper problems on the PPP the plastic cover on the arm broke and slid under the arm and lifted it off the windsheild, kind of hard to find that out when your in the middle of a winter storm
