my other 86 325 that i got for the winter is having some tranni problems. when the car is cold or sits for a while and i drive it after letting it warm up, the trannie sticks in first gear. it usually won't change untill it is redlined to the nuts, sometimes i even have to bounce it off the rev limiter. but once it changes it is fine for the rest of the drive. no problems at all. I have done the fluid and filter and even tried wasrming it up in nuetral but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
the "S" stands for sport. it is a sport gear. if you put it in "s" the trans. will only shift as high as third gear. you will notice that when you are driving with the car in "s" on the highway u will see that ur RPM's will be high. throw it into D and you will see the RPM's drop.
is this the same problem as mine? :see my tranny thread: Can I just change the fluid n filter and then reset the ECM or something? Takes off pretty slow and if its really cold out it takes off dead slow, but wont shift till like 50 at wide open throttle.
