Hey Guys,
It's Summer now and over here in California its gettin pretty hot. I was thinking of getting tint done on my windows. I know that u can only have the back 3 windows tinted dark, but the front ones can be tinted lightly. I was wondering how dark i should make the front 2 and the back 3? thnx, saves me a lot of usage of my air conditioner.
I just got my windows tinted...I went as dark as the state of Utah would permit. The front windows are 43% and the back ones are 5%. I drive a black 325i so the black back windows look pimp. I wish I could get the front ones darker...I'd recomend going as dark as you can but be mindful of the back window....it can be hard to see out of at night and you don't want to back into anything. I got my back window done at 20% and I'm having problems with my reverse lights and it's hard to see while backing up at night. So make sure those work before you get them tinted...try slipping the dude 50 bucks to get the front windows done to 20% or less...

except if a cop pulls you over and the tint is over legal limit he/she will take out his/her keys or somthing to that effect and scrape it up then tell you to remove it and write you a ticket. i 4 of my friends have had that happen and its not even strict here. or maybe the cops were having bad days...

I would do it all the same. In my opinion, having three different shades of tint on your car is.... not good. I will probably get all done to the legal max here in NC, which is 35%, I think. The shop that you take it to will know, if they don't, move on. Also, in NC, you get charged a little more for your yearly inspection if you have tint. Don't know why.

I live in southern cali, I went Full Limo all the way around, just tld my tint place i wanted the darkest they had all the way around. So i got 5% in all my windows, it looks so bad ass B) , its a must if you have a black car like i do, and the AC works soooo much better now, and it cools a lot faster. I remember the first time i drove off with it, it felt like driving a different car..i know i know.. their just tints, but i was real happy with them in the end. I travel 100 miles a day , and 98% is on the highway, cops see me all the time and i havnt been pulled over yet ( knock on wood), because of the size of the windows on the E30 model, u can still see through the tint on a sunny day, it also depens on what tint you get. Also if you get tints and are worried about getting pulled over, when you see a cop just open the sun roof, trust me it'll make and dark tint look medium-light, try it :wink
