wierd engine noise (82 320i)

mine number one spark plug wire looks as if it is about to fall out when engine is running. so i tryied to push it in, as if mabye the wire was not completely seated, and it starts to make this wierd noise almost like when i push on the wire it pushes the plug father into the cylinder and the piston is hitting it....if anyone could give me some advice or something it would be a huge help. thanks

For starters I would pull the plugs inspect all and do a comp. test if all checks out you might be getting some premature detonation due to poor spark plug wires and errent spark so tune it up from the rotor back!

Sounds like Cylnder head threads are stripped.You'll need a"Helicoil"to fix that issue.Get back to me if you still need help.Do not run the Motor w/this problem...

does the spark plug move, or does the spark plug wire move?

Have you done any work with the spark plugs lately?

If the spark plug is moving around it's definatly the cylinder head plug threads are fubar'd and you'll need a helicoil or new cylinder head.
