View Poll Results: Who would win in a straight and twisty race?
Please tell me why you think that car you pick would win. I need to know, because there are people at my school with these cars, and was wondering what your opinions are on the better cars. I drive the 325iS, I am a better driver then all the other people, the only challenge in driving would be the VW passat wagon, just the person with that car drives good too. But I just wanted your opinion on what CAR would win. the race would be a quarter mile race, and a 10 mile twisty road race, both races being done seperatly, who you think would come out the winner?

well in a straight line ide say the 323 or the vr6 jetta but in the twisties i think the lighter e30's would win depending on driver and soley on driver in the twisties

the 323i can certainly out perform your e30 in straight line or twisty racing, but it depends entirely on the driver (bmw didnt make 323's in 2001 btw). you could even get slaughtered by the eta if you were racing against someone like, michael schumacher :P i dont know enough about vw's to know if they are built inferior or not, but i know they are nimble and pretty powerful so i would say it is a 100% drivers race.
Ok heres the deal the 03 GTI will win the straight. No question about it. Not by much but it will win. How do you know? Ive done it. About 200 times over. And every time he comes out about 20 feet ahead of me.
In the turns. The 323 will win. Just out of pure technology. Its suspension is so much better than the e30s and the FWDs just dont have a chance. I run soloII with my friend who has the GTI and he cant keep up.

my friend has a 323i, and I have a 325iS and he said that my car felt a little more powerful, and I beat him through twisties, but I think that is because I am better driver(which I am). the GTi I can imagine would probably beat me even with a little 1.8, but they are light and such and have more of an advantage, but if it was me verse all of the people at my school who had those cars, Id win anyways, lol, not to be big-headed, but its the truth. Just thought Id throw that in there, later...

323 is faster but has a smoother power curve thats why he said yours "Feels" faster.
The GTI is turbo charged. But comes with a open differential and is horrible at turning. Weight is the same as yours

yeah, my 325is feels alot more powerful than my dads old e46 323i in the lower rpms, but once both engines start to scream the M52 starts to take off from the midrange all the way to redline.
Can I get an Amen on E30's being the best overall 3 series other then the M's and Z's and the NEw 330Ci? I feel like they are the most aggressive. It seems like they want to be driven faster then the newer cars.

i'd agree with that, but not in stock form. stock vs stock any 6cyl e46 would be better in almost everyway than a stock e30

Some hoe(women;elderly type women;gold miner type person(goes for the money not the person)) pulled into the gas station where I was in a brand new Porsche Gt2, is this legal?!?!? no offence to women, cuz I know some women are very capable behind the wheel(ones that actually go on the track), I am not saying women should always be on the track, I just think that a mid 40's women shouldnt be driving a 477hp beast.

and why do u spat at people with these cars.... becuase you cant afford one? i mean i dont have one either but i drive an e36 and were as stock i think the e30 is way better for tracking i have driven track e36 that feel a lot better than e30s but vice versa too! The e30 was bmws great track car well atleast the e30 m3 was! but dont be dissin on people with the e46 you gotta remember people get old and buy bmwsTO DRIVE to work..... not on the track dont be so fucking arrogant!
