i have 17's and i dont know why u have to put a suspension kit but if i were to put one i would go with the bilsteis and h&r sping combo from turner motorsport or if u have some extra cash go for the coil overs made by H&r
i think that 16s and a 1 1/4" drop is the best looking setup for e30... 17s just look kinda goofy on such a square old body.

I live my life one quarter mile at a time, and for those 23 or more seconds I'm free.
i agree and besides...17s are a huge power and economy sacrafice...bye bye gas mileage and HP but i say go for the gusto and drop it 2 inches..you will love it...still wont bottom out either i dont heh

Ive got VOLK RACING TE37 17x7s and they are pretty light by my stock wheel standards. I havent noticed any difference in economy but I have in ride harshness. Also a good setup to go with these if you wanna lower your car is to get M3 Control arms/bushings,Bilstein shocks/B&G lowering springs(mine are a 2" drop), racing dynamics swaybars, and ONE PIECE strut bar NOT THE ADJUSTABLE ONES!!! that should give give you better handling and way more style to got with it.
