What engine ,tranny and differential fluid i should use in my 89 325i - BMW Forum

I going to change engine ,tranny and differential fluid because i'm not sure how previous owner change them
Car have 190k miles ,doesn't smoke oil at all

Start with Engine oil , i have read in Haynes manual that 5W30 for cold and 10W30 for hot weather ,but i was wandering what kinda oil i should use (one for high milage ,Synthetic meybe or just cheap regular one)

Tranny oil WT AF DEXRON III or something else ???

Differential oil WT GL-5 GEAR OIL WEIGHT 90 ???

Here in Erie , PA winters are cold so i don't wanna have problems with shifting

I know i have too may posts "what is good" ,but hey i needed infos from people who drive cars like i have

Go to www.royalpurple.com and they can tell you what lubricants to use and their brand equivilants. I have been a long time user of RP oils and I love the results. They reccomed changing engine oil (theirs of course) every 12,000 miles, and filter every 3k. (I change oil after 9,000).

And as a side note, I would burn that Haynes manual and buy a Bently Publications manual for the e30. They can be had on www.ebay.com for 40-50 bucks. They are expensive but they are a hundred times better than that Haynes.

Well today i changed motor oil with Valvoline 10W40 (red can for motors oner 75k)

I look at tranny and i was tryin find out for green , red or no label, but i didn't find anything, then i open fill plug on side of tranny and i find red ATF fluid (smells too )inside, so i guessing i should use WT AF DEXRON III

Anyone know where that label supposed to be on tranny
