value of 1986 325e

hi there,

my mint condition 1986 325e with 71,000 miles (117,000 kms) was just written off after getting rear ended by an suv.

the insurance company (icbc) want to pay me $2,800 for it! i think this is too low.

any idea whether this is a fair evaluation. i'm not sure how anyone can just put a value on a car like that without examples as i cannot find a similar age car with such low mileage on the internet.

that sounds like a pretty fair offer, decent newer examples can be purchased privately for only $1000 on average. Buy it back from them if it can be saved, or get a new one and continue to love it.

unfortunately the 86 E is not a desirable model, if this was however an 89-91 iS you would see numbers like $5000 from the insurance company...

a MINT condition 86 Eta should sell private sale for about $2500, I think you did just fine....
