I just got my happy little hand on an '88 320i coupe and am really curious why is it that there is so little info on them. The service manuals don't cover them and most sites don't even mention them all together. Are they not sold anywhere else but Australia? How come there is such little info on them?
in america, the only sold 325s and 318s, the numbers after the 3, is mearly the engine size... if you need service manuals on the 320i there should be plenty, since they were sold all over europe
if you just need manuals on other things in the car, any 1988 3 series site will have them

You have a E21 3 series with a 2.0l M10 engine not a E30 3 series. And all BMW with the exception of Z3 and Z4 plus the X3 and X5 are made in Germany and are imported.
Now if you meant it was grey marketed, I can't help you there.

Yours is a 1.8L just like mine. When BMW switched from the 2.0 to the 1.8 they didn't change the badge cause they were afraid that the sales of the car would drop.
my vin isnt makin sense... it wont work in a vin decoder, but it works in carfax, and im looking at a decoder and my 11th digit is 8, it says only options are A B D E F.... used
