Trying to find the names of parts for an E30 325

I am looking for a couple of parts for a relative of mine in South America.

I'm sorry, but these part descriptions are going to sound very naive on my behalf, even though I know cars, I am trying to translate from spanish into english.

Un Calefactor de agua, (es como un radiador
de agua chiquito de aluminio, por eso es que no funciona el aire caliente.

- A water heater (it's like a small, aluminum radiator for water, this is why the hot air does not work)


una Tarjeta Electrónica de Tablero de Instrumentos. Por esa razón no funciona el
Tacómetro, el Flujometro o Vacuometro y otras cositas más que son menos
importantes.


- An electronic chip for the instrument panel. This is why the tachometer, and other less significant parts do not work.

Sounds like:

1. Heater Core

2. There is a circuit board in our instrument cluster that controls some service indicator lights. It has on-board rechargable batteries that will eventually go bad and have to be replaced. When this happens, it can affect the tach and other instruments.

That sounds like the problem from what I understand. Here is a site that explains how to change the batteries.

I hear there is a way to bypass the board completely, but someone else will have to provide a link for it, I haven't found it yet.

Thank you, both for the quick response, and valuable information.

Where do you guys go to get parts? Where do you suggest I find the heater core? As for the second problem, thanks for the link. I am not confident in the sottering/de-soldering abilities of the mechanic, however I will still present that information to my uncle. Is there a source for that panel? One less expensive than the dealer.
