A guy on ebay is selling a 2.5 e30 engine and is claiming there is a difference in the engines because its an mtec car, this is what he said...
"You should do your investigations around the 25 i sport gold seal engine, which if you look at has a gold wax over it and was upgraded from the original 25 lump, thus the reason that a 325 i sport (M Tech) is much faster then the normal 25 i."
i thought that the MTEC cars just had the upgraded suspension and exterior/interior bits?
I have never heard anything like that! The guy sounds full of shit, as well the gold wax is just cosmoline. All e30 engines were protected with it, most of the time it was removed.
To be honest... This is the biggest SHITHEAD MOVE OF THE YEAR! I have an 86 ETA. The Stroked but otherwise DETUNED m20 engined e30... And you know what??? I have a gold valve cover! Does that mean I have an MTEC Engine???? Oh DEAR GOD I WISH!
I hit my "GOLD" valve cover with some acetone.... You know what... I dont' have "Gold Seal" engine anymore! SHIT! I thought I had a mutant! On a serious note... this deal smells like my underwear after a night of JEGERMEISTER shots...
