Transmission Question - BMW Forum

I believe my synchronizers are bad in my transmission. I was wondering if all transmissions are the same among all e30's.

Also, where could I get a new transmission that would be worth putting in my car. I doubt that there are any good transmissions that I could get out of another e30 seeing how they probably have as much mileage as I do. Is there any place to get rebuilt transmissions? I need a 4th gear!!!

Gearboxes are rate to the power of the engine i.e. big engine stronger box

As far as I can tell, the same transmission is used in the "e" and the "i". Its the Getrag 260. The only difference is the bolt pattern on the bell housing and the "e" version has two holes for a flywheel and TDC sensors.

Still, does anyone know of any good places to look? I've found a few, but I want to know all I can so I can make the right choice.
