Was running with some autocross guys here in town the other night when i noticed 3rd gear and 5th gear were having some difficulties engaging. I was instantly worried and chilled out on the driving.
the next evening, last night, 5th would not engage at all. then reverse. oh no. then the shifter felt as if it had almost a new pattern from 2nd to 3rd and vice versa, also lacked any feel and kind of had a slight curve in between those two gears.
When i got home, everything went to hell. Right as i pulled into the driveway the damn thing got stuck in second gear. NOw the shifter has no connection with the trans. at all the shifter just moves around freely. I really do not know what has happened but i am guessing that a pin of sorts broke inside the shift assembly.
after getting under the car, it turned out to be that the shift linkage was broken. just snapped all together right after the shifter itself. I scored a new linkage for free. all is okay
I dont however have any idea what i am getting into though.
good news, rainy season is finally here now and this is a reason to get into one of my old jeep wranglers! my favorate one, it is the first car i ever had, out of quite i have had.
95 yj, 173,xxx miles, owned it for 7 years. original clutch, IASCA World record loudest wrangler 2003 and 2004. One 12 inch and 2 2300 rms amps!
146.x and 149.4 dbs. there was only 2 or 3 other jeeps competing though and one guy only lived like 60 miles away.
WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU! A REALLY FREAKIN LOUD JEEP JUST ROLLED BY....
