traction control at the track

hey i just bought my bimmer, i have a 94 325is and i am taking it to the drag strip on saturday. im wondering if i should keep the traction control on or take it off when im racing it. I would imagine traction control will get me off the line better but im still not sure exactly what it does

the best thing to do is to take that thread to the e36 forum, this is the e30 forum...but traction control is a good thing to have in my head unless you want to bust some drifts....take tcs to get the tires warm and such, it is a toss up...you need to have some good tires to keep grip too...
