Tire/Wheel Changing - BMW Forum

I'm going to buy winter wheels and new hub caps, should i bring it to a dealer/shop or is it a good DYI project? i have until the 17th of january off from school, so i want something to do other than putting in the new shocks.

just putting the new wheels on?

if you have a good jack and the right tools (17mm socket(I think) and a torque wrench) you are good to go

Are are you asking about putting new tires on the wheels?

thats a shop job for like 20-30 bucks i think

its usualy 10-20 bucks a wheel up here, that including balancing tho.

yeah i'm going to buy 4 winter tires, but i want to put bmw wheels on the tires cause i refuse to have those ugly ones on my car. i'm just wondering if i can balance and everything myself

Have you ever watched how mounting and balancing is done? Mounting yourself ... maybe you could do it, but I guarantee you would work your ass off to save a couple dollars. You can't balance the wheels without the spin balancer machine. It's just impossible.
