Does anyone know what the stock timing on my 82 320i 1.8 liter is? I wanna advance it, how far do you think I can? I live in utah, which is quite a bit above sea level...

If you advance the timing your car will probalby not want to start, and if it does it will not run well. The timing is set with the car at 2400 rpm, vaccum advance unpluged and looking through the timing hole at the back of the block. If you want to change your cam timing that is different, you will need to buy an aftermarket cam gear that allows you to advance it.
