Talking Swapping Injectors ????s

Hey All,

I was reading and found a thread that suggested that I could swap out the stock (14lbs) injectors in my '87 325is for a set of injectors from a 5.0 (19lbs).

Has anyone here done that? If so what are the details? I can get some injectors for almost free, so if it works I might do it. What is the advantages? What can I expect while doing the swap and after?

Thanks very much for any and all feedback.

its overkill. the stock injectors work just fine, the only reason to switch is if your current injectors are bad or you want to upgrade to the newer 4 pintle design/disc design. single pintle 19# wont really net you much without supporting upgrades (m30 maf, headers, exhaust)

Ive done it all before on my 325i and its kinda tricky to tune even with the m30 maf (perhaps esp. so).

if you go with them with everything else stock, adjust the maf screw a couple of turns. you'll still most likely get check engine light to flicker when @ idle.

also upgrade to crane cams hi-6 digital ignition controller if you want a boost in the efficiency of the engine. with 19#'s, hi-6, m30 maf and re-gapped dual electrode bosch coppers(screw platinums) i did notice the power was more present all over the power band, however lacked the actual dyno for specific #'s.
