Suspension Advice

Hey sup.
I drive an 1990 325i. I'm pretty unhappy with the way it handles, I cant go around a corner with the tires complaining, and I feel the car start to slide. I want to upgrade the suspsension, but I can't/dotn want to lower it. I live in north philyl and the roads are REALLY bad. I think the ride height is fine, and I was considering HR sport OEs, as they dont lower the car THAT much, but its still more then I want... is there an option for springs out there? Can I help my problem by just upgradeing shocks? I was thinking either Bilstein Sports or Spax shocks. also, what mounts/bushings/etc should I replace while doing shocks and springs?

are you more worried about bottoming out or having too harsh of a ride?

depending on your budget i think groundcontrol coilovers with koni SA's would be your best bet for your requirements. you can keep stock (or very close to stock) ride height while picking out your choice of spring rates with 3 damping settings for the shocks. i think groundcontrol are even offering progressive spring rates now which would perfect for you since you do alot city driving and dont plan on heavily tracking the car. with the GC's you could potentially adjust a stock looking/handling car to track setup in under a hour, and of course there are lots of setup combinations in between.

coil overs are unfortunitly out of my price range I'm worried about both harsh ride and ground clearence... what do u guys think about HR OE sports?

the h&r oe sports will be very soft. i would stick it out and pay 500 for the konis for the adjustable rebound damping, then just get some M3 springs and a strut brace. if thats not enough, then larger sway bars could be your next step.
