So i just bought a 83 320is.........its in good shape but the sunroof is leaking. The guy i bought it from said that if i set it just right it wont leak, but this kinda sucks so is there anyway i can make it so it doesnt leak period? Help me out please, i love this car other than the leaky roof, so i would hate for that to ruin it!

I found that if I opened the sunroof all the way and then closed it , it would leak
If I opened it up so that the back is up and then closed it , it sealed. Dont ask me why but I think the car is picky.

Factory sunroofs all leak. But there is a network of drains, a small pipe at all 4 corners and a gutter system (one long crossing gutter under the back edge of the roof panel) work together to drain the water away. Yours might need unclogging

have someone with a compressor blow air through the drains in the front end of the sunroof opening. (a hole in each corner) you might be missing you gutter that runs paralel to the back end of your sunroof as well. the seal around the sunroof is there for noise reduction but water seeps through it (even new) so your problem is defenetly drainage. I went to a scrap yard and took one appart to figure out what was missing on mine that had the same problem. hope this helps.
