I have what appears to be a busted rail, and dislocated drive cable on my 87 325 sedan. When I do a search for parts, I get a hit on a "sunroof cartridge" out of an E36, any chance these are the same part?? or am I not that lucky, and have to source individual parts for this thing?
Thats what I was afraid of. It was too good to be true, being as the whole cartrige was 169 bucks, oh well, now to see what is FUBAR and what can be saved
lucky for you there is no shortage of E30's at the junkyards, just grab the parts there!

well, some semi-good news is that I can now vent the sunroof. I am waiting for a new left side panel mounting rail, and the stupid little bracket that covers the gap between the two halves of the rail (this is where the cable was poking out at and getting jammed). I went ahead and got new, as the nearest bimmer yard is only open weekdays, and I am in school during working hours (sucks to be me) besides, it isnt worth it to me to get a used plastic part, when a brand new one is fairly cheap (35 bucks) from BMW
